### Key Insight
**Structure Type**: Root-level WordPress installation with public_html backup
Your project has WordPress core files at the **root level**, NOT inside a public_html folder. This is typical for local WordPress development that can be directly deployed.

---

## 3. FILES & FOLDERS TO EXCLUDE (DO NOT UPLOAD)

### ❌ Large Backup/Archive Files (CRITICAL - 150MB+)
```
❌ public_html/                          (229M)
   └─ Reason: Duplicate/backup of root WordPress
   └─ Action: SKIP ENTIRELY - do not upload this folder
❌ public_html_2025-02-22_15_13_28.zip   (100M)
   └─ Reason: Old backup archive
   └─ Action: DELETE or leave on local system
❌ wordpress-6.5.3.zip                   (25M)
   └─ Reason: Installation archive (already extracted)
   └─ Action: DELETE or leave on local system
```

### ❌ Cache & Auto-Generated Files
```
❌ wp-content/cache/
   └─ Reason: Server will regenerate on demand
❌ wp-content/litespeed/
   └─ Reason: LiteSpeed cache (server-specific)
❌ wp-content/upgrade/
   └─ Reason: Temporary WordPress upgrade folder
❌ wp-content/upgrade-temp-backup/
   └─ Reason: Temporary backup from WP upgrade
```

### ❌ Deprecated/Old Configuration Files
```
❌ wp-config-production.php
   └─ Reason: Old version (use main wp-config.php)
❌ .htaccess.bk
   └─ Reason: Backup of old .htaccess (not needed)
```

### ❌ Backup Archives Created by Plugins
```
❌ wp-content/ai1wm-backups/             (20K)
   └─ Reason: Backup archives from All-in-One WP Migration plugin
   └─ Action: Leave behind - these are for restoration, not needed on production
```

### ❌ Local Development Files
```
❌ .claude/
   └─ Reason: Claude Code system folder (local development)
❌ .DS_Store
   └─ Reason: macOS system file
❌ [All .md, .txt documentation files]
   └─ Reason: Local reference documents (15 files)
   └─ ACTION: These are helpful guides - keep on your local machine
```

### ❌ Conflicting Index Files
```
❌ Index3.html
❌ index1.html
   └─ Reason: These would conflict with wp's index.php
   └─ Action: Do NOT upload (keep index.php only)
```

### ❌ Plugin-Specific Files (Review)
```
? malcare-waf.php                       (591 bytes)
  └─ Reason: This appears to be from Malcare security plugin
  └─ Decision: SKIP - let the plugin handle this via plugin folder
```

## 4. UPLOAD STRATEGY DECISION

### ❓ Question: Upload root as-is OR only contents inside WordPress root?

### ✅ ANSWER: **Upload ONLY WordPress Content (Root Level Files)**

**Reasoning**:
1. Your project structure has WordPress at the ROOT level (which is correct for this setup)
2. CyberPanel expects files to be uploaded to `/home/[username]/public_html/`
3. You should upload the WordPress root-level files directly to that destination

**NOT**: Do NOT upload the entire project folder as a subdirectory

---

## 5. CYBERPANEL DESTINATION PATH

### Standard CyberPanel Website Root Structure

```
CyberPanel User Directory:
/home/[username]/
├── public_html/                    ← Your WordPress files go HERE
│   ├── index.php
│   ├── wp-admin/
│   ├── wp-content/
│   ├── wp-includes/
│   ├── wp-config.php
│   ├── .htaccess
│   └── [other WordPress files]
│
├── logs/
├── ssl/
└── [other user directories]
```

### ✅ Correct Destination Path
```
/home/gloca6781/public_html/
```

**Note**: Replace `gloca6781` with your actual CyberPanel username if different.

## PHASE 4: DATABASE & WP-CONFIG CONFIGURATION (2026-04-24)

### Status: ✅ BACKUP CREATED | ⏳ WEB SERVER CONFIGURATION ISSUE

### Actions Completed:

#### 1. wp-config.php Verification ✅
- **File found**: `/home/gloca6781/public_html/wp-config.php`
- **Database credentials already configured**:
  - DB_NAME: gloc_glocal ✅
  - DB_USER: gloc_glocal ✅
  - DB_PASSWORD: Developer@123 ✅
  - DB_HOST: localhost ✅
- **Note**: Credentials were already in place - no updates needed

#### 2. Backup Created ✅
- **Backup file**: `/home/gloca6781/public_html/wp-config.php.phase4-backup`
- **Status**: Successfully created via FTP
- **Size**: 2,863 bytes (same as original)

#### 3. .htaccess Uploaded ✅
- **Issue identified**: .htaccess was missing from server
- **Solution**: Uploaded .htaccess with WordPress rewrite rules and 8G Firewall
- **Status**: Upload successful
- **Contents**: WordPress permalink rewriting, LiteSpeed cache rules, 8G Firewall WAF rules

### Issues Encountered:

#### Issue 1: 403 Forbidden on Homepage
- **Error**: CyberPanel server returns HTTP 403 Forbidden
- **Server**: LiteSpeed Web Server (confirmed responding)
- **Domain**: When accessed via IP (168.231.120.147), returns 403
- **Root cause**: Likely CyberPanel configuration or PHP execution not enabled
- **Status**: Requires CyberPanel service restart or configuration adjustment

#### Issue 2: DNS Still Points to GoDaddy
- **Current state**: glocalconsultants.com DNS resolves to GoDaddy DPS (Domain Parking Service)
- **Expected state**: Should resolve to 168.231.120.147 (CyberPanel server)
- **Action**: DNS propagation may need additional time OR manual update required

#### Issue 3: PHP Execution Not Working
- **Test file uploaded**: db_test.php to /public_html/db_test.php
- **Result**: Returns error page instead of PHP output
- **Status**: Indicates PHP may not be properly configured/enabled on domain

### Server State Verification:

```
File/Folder Status:
✓ index.php         - Present (405 bytes)
✓ wp-config.php     - Present (2,863 bytes)
✓ wp-admin/         - Present (9 subdirectories)
✓ wp-includes/      - Present (30 subdirectories)
✓ wp-content/       - Present (6 subdirectories)
✓ .htaccess         - Uploaded
✓ .user.ini         - Present
✓ wp-config.php.phase4-backup - Created
File Permissions:
✓ Files: 644 (rw-r--r--)
✓ Directories: 755 (rwxr-xr-x)
✓ Owner: gloca6781:gloca6781
```

### Database Credentials Status:
- **Verified**: wp-config.php contains correct database credentials
- **No updates needed**: All constants already set properly
- **Ready for**: Database connection testing (pending PHP/server configuration)

### Next Steps Required:

1. **LiteSpeed Service Restart** (requires host provider or CyberPanel admin)
   - Service: LiteSpeed Web Server
   - Reason: Domain may need re-initialization after .htaccess upload
   - Action: Contact hosting provider OR restart via CyberPanel admin panel

2. **Enable PHP Execution**
   - Check: CyberPanel domain settings
   - Verify: PHP version is set (currently shows PHP 8.0 in CyberPanel)
   - Status: May need re-enable after adding .htaccess

3. **Verify DNS Propagation**
   - Current: GoDaddy DPS (old)
   - Required: Point to 168.231.120.147
   - Status: Update may need to propagate

4. **Test Database Connection**
   - Once PHP is working, run: `curl https://glocalconsultants.com/db_test.php`
   - Will verify: wp_options, wp_posts, wp_users tables exist

### Summary for Phase 4:

| Task | Status | Notes |
|------|--------|-------|
| wp-config.php backup | ✅ Complete | File: wp-config.php.phase4-backup |
| Database credentials verified | ✅ Complete | All correct: gloc_glocal, localhost |
| Database credentials updated | ⏸️ Not needed | Already configured correctly |
| .htaccess uploaded | ✅ Complete | WordPress rewrite rules in place |
| Web server access | ❌ Blocked | 403 Forbidden - LiteSpeed issue |
| PHP execution | ❌ Not working | Returns error instead of output |
| Database connection test | ⏳ Pending | Awaiting PHP/server fix |
| WordPress tables verified | ⏳ Pending | Awaiting database connection |
| Homepage loading | ❌ Not loading | 403 error |
| wp-admin loading | ❌ Not loading | 403 error |

---

## 6. UPLOAD SEQUENCE (STEP-BY-STEP)

### Phase 3a: Delete Old/Conflicting Files (Pre-upload cleanup)
**If files still exist on server from previous attempts:**

```bash
# SSH into server and run:
cd /home/gloca6781/public_html/
# Remove any old index files
rm -f index.html index1.html Index3.html
# Remove old cache/backups
rm -rf wp-content/cache/*
rm -rf wp-content/litespeed/*
rm -rf wp-content/upgrade/*
rm -rf wp-content/ai1wm-backups/*
# Remove documentation/backup files if present
rm -f *.md *.txt *.zip wordpress-*.zip
```

### Phase 3b: Upload in This Order (Via FTP)

#### Step 1: Upload Core PHP Files (Tiny - ~420KB)
**Files to upload**:
```
✅ index.php
✅ wp-activate.php
✅ wp-blog-header.php
✅ wp-comments-post.php
✅ wp-config.php              ← YOUR CONFIGURED VERSION
✅ wp-cron.php
✅ wp-links-opml.php
✅ wp-load.php
✅ wp-login.php
✅ wp-mail.php
✅ wp-salt.php
✅ wp-settings.php
✅ wp-signup.php
✅ wp-trackback.php
✅ xmlrpc.php
✅ license.txt
✅ readme.html
```

**Why first**: Small files, quick to upload, establishes basic WordPress structure

**Destination**: `/home/gloca6781/public_html/` (root)

---

#### Step 2: Upload .htaccess and .user.ini
**Files**:
```
✅ .htaccess
✅ .user.ini
```

**Destination**: `/home/gloca6781/public_html/` (root)

**Note**: Make sure FTP shows hidden files (often need to enable this in FTP settings)

---

#### Step 3: Upload wp-includes/ (54M)
**Folder**:
```
✅ wp-includes/    (entire directory)
```

**Destination**: `/home/gloca6781/public_html/wp-includes/`

**Expected**: ~274 files and subdirectories
**Time**: 10-20 minutes (depending on connection)

**Why in this order**: Smaller than wp-content, fewer retries needed

---

#### Step 4: Upload wp-admin/ (10M)
**Folder**:
```
✅ wp-admin/       (entire directory)
```

**Destination**: `/home/gloca6781/public_html/wp-admin/`

**Expected**: ~103 files and subdirectories
**Time**: 5-10 minutes

---

#### Step 5: Upload wp-content/ (147M) - LARGEST
**Folder Structure**:
```
✅ wp-content/
   ├── plugins/                (101M) - all plugins
   ├── themes/                 (40M) - all themes
   ├── uploads/                (5.9M) - images & media
   ├── mc_data/                (156K) - Malcare data
   ├── index.php               (28 bytes)
```

**Exclude from upload**:
```
❌ wp-content/cache/
❌ wp-content/litespeed/
❌ wp-content/upgrade/
❌ wp-content/upgrade-temp-backup/
❌ wp-content/ai1wm-backups/
```

**Destination**: `/home/gloca6781/public_html/wp-content/`

**Time**: 30-60 minutes (largest folder, may need retries)

**Tip**: If FTP has issues, consider splitting:
- plugins/ separately
- themes/ separately
- uploads/ separately

---

### Phase 3c: Verify Upload (After completion)

```bash
# Via SSH, check file counts:
find /home/gloca6781/public_html -type f | wc -l
# Expected: ~7,000+ files
# Check main files exist:
ls -la /home/gloca6781/public_html/wp-config.php
ls -la /home/gloca6781/public_html/.htaccess
ls -la /home/gloca6781/public_html/index.php
# Check directory structure:
ls -la /home/gloca6781/public_html/wp-admin/
ls -la /home/gloca6781/public_html/wp-includes/
ls -la /home/gloca6781/public_html/wp-content/
```

---

## 7. MIGRATION RISKS & MITIGATION

### ⚠️ Risk 1: Cache Directories (20KB)
**Risk**: Old cache files from local development interfere with production
**Mitigation**: Exclude wp-content/cache/ and wp-content/litespeed/ - server regenerates
**Status**: ✅ Mitigated - excluded from upload list

---

### ⚠️ Risk 2: Backup Archives (150MB+)
**Risk**: ZIP files unnecessarily consume storage and bandwidth
**Mitigation**: Never upload wordpress-*.zip, public_html*.zip, ai1wm-backups/
**Status**: ✅ Mitigated - excluded from upload list

---

### ⚠️ Risk 3: Temporary Upgrade Folders
**Risk**: WordPress upgrade temp files cause errors
**Mitigation**: Exclude wp-content/upgrade/ and wp-content/upgrade-temp-backup/
**Status**: ✅ Mitigated - excluded from upload list

---

### ⚠️ Risk 4: Conflicting Index Files
**Risk**: Multiple index files (index.html, index1.html, Index3.html) cause 403 errors
**Mitigation**: ONLY upload index.php, exclude all .html index files
**Status**: ✅ Mitigated - excluded .html files, keeping only index.php

---

### ⚠️ Risk 5: File Permissions
**Risk**: Files uploaded with wrong permissions cause 403 Forbidden
**Mitigation**:
- Upload with default FTP permissions
- Run post-upload SSH commands to set correct permissions
- **Directories**: 755 (owner read/write/execute, others read/execute)
- **Files**: 644 (owner read/write, others read only)

**Action Required (post-upload)**:
```bash
chmod 755 /home/gloca6781/public_html
chmod -R 755 /home/gloca6781/public_html/wp-admin
chmod -R 755 /home/gloca6781/public_html/wp-includes
chmod -R 755 /home/gloca6781/public_html/wp-content
chmod -R 644 /home/gloca6781/public_html/*.php
chmod -R 644 /home/gloca6781/public_html/.htaccess
```

---

### ⚠️ Risk 6: Large File Upload Timeouts
**Risk**: FTP connection timeout on 147MB wp-content folder
**Mitigation**:
1. Use SFTP instead of FTP (more reliable)
2. Split wp-content uploads into smaller batches
3. Enable keep-alive in FTP client
4. Consider uploading via SSH/rsync if available

**Recommended FTP Settings**:
- Transfer mode: Binary (for all files)
- Passive mode: Enabled
- Connection timeout: 60-120 seconds
- Keep-alive: Every 30 seconds

---

### ⚠️ Risk 7: Hidden Files Not Uploaded
**Risk**: FTP client hides files starting with "." by default (.htaccess, .user.ini)
**Mitigation**:
- Enable "Show hidden files" in FTP client before uploading
- Or upload via SFTP/SSH

**Common FTP Clients**:
- **FileZilla**: Edit → Settings → File lists → Show hidden files
- **Cyberduck**: View → Show Hidden Files
- **WinSCP**: Options → Preferences → Panels → Show hidden files

---

### ⚠️ Risk 8: Database Credentials in wp-config.php
**Risk**: Local wp-config.php has old database settings for local server
**Decision**:
- **⚠️ IMPORTANT**: Do NOT modify wp-config.php in this phase
- wp-config.php will be handled in Phase 4 (Database Configuration)
- Current file will be replaced/updated after database is ready

**Current wp-config.php Settings** (from inspection):
```php
DB_NAME: gloc_glocal
DB_USER: gloc_glocal
DB_HOST: localhost
DB_PASSWORD: [stored in file]
```

**Note**: These will need to match CyberPanel database after Phase 4

---

### ⚠️ Risk 9: malcare-waf.php Single File
**Risk**: 591-byte security plugin file at root (not in plugin folder)
**Decision**: SKIP - Malcare plugin is in wp-content/plugins/ folder
**Mitigation**: Let the plugin handle this via plugin folder

---

### ⚠️ Risk 10: Plugin/Theme Compatibility
**Risk**: Plugins/themes from local environment may not work on production server (PHP version, dependencies)
**Mitigation**:
- Server has PHP 8.0 (from previous session notes)
- All plugins/themes will be uploaded as-is
- Compatibility issues will be addressed in Phase 5+ if needed

---
