# Server Deployment Plan - CyberPanel Cloud

**Document Created:** 2026-04-22
**Project:** Glocal Consultants WordPress Site
**Deployment Target:** CyberPanel Cloud Server
**Deployment Strategy:** Database-First Approach

---

## 1. DEPLOYMENT OBJECTIVE

Deploy the Glocal Consultants WordPress site to a production CyberPanel server following a database-first approach:

1. **Phase 1 (Database First):** Import MySQL database from backup
2. **Phase 2 (Codebase Second):** Upload WordPress files and custom code

**Rationale:** Database-first ensures data integrity and allows for clean codebase deployment without data loss risk.

```
### ❌ DO NOT UPLOAD
#### Backup/Duplicate Directories
```
✅ EXCLUDE: glocalconsultants.com_BACKUP/          (566 MB)
✅ EXCLUDE: public_html/                           (229 MB)
✅ EXCLUDE: glocalconsultants.com_BACKUP.zip       (202 MB)
✅ EXCLUDE: public_html_2025-02-22_15_13_28.zip    (100 MB)
✅ EXCLUDE: wordpress-6.5.3.zip                    (25 MB)

Reason: These are local backups/duplicate installations.
        Only deploy the main root directory.
```
#### Local Development Artifacts
```
✅ EXCLUDE: .claude/ (Claude Code config)
✅ EXCLUDE: .DS_Store                              (macOS metadata)
✅ EXCLUDE: .htaccess.bk                           (Old backup)
✅ EXCLUDE: Index3.html, index1.html               (Temporary test files)
✅ EXCLUDE: current_local_state.md (Local setup doc)
✅ EXCLUDE: local_setup_log.md (Local setup log)
✅ EXCLUDE: next_session_revert_prompt.md (Local revert doc)
✅ EXCLUDE: project_analysis_progress.md           (Analysis doc)
✅ EXCLUDE: system_memory.md                       (Analysis doc)
✅ EXCLUDE: /tmp/* files (Temporary PHP server files)

Reason: These files are for local development only, not needed on production.
```
#### Plugins to Review/Remove
```
⚠️ REVIEW: wp-cli-login-server                     (Development tool)
           Reason: Dev utility for local WP-CLI access
           Action: Can be removed or disabled in production

Status: This is the ONLY plugin that's dev-specific. Others are production-ready.
```
## 5. TOTAL UPLOAD SIZE
### Minimal Upload (Recommended)
```
wp-admin/              ~10 MB
wp-includes/           ~54 MB
wp-content/            ~147 MB (minus cache/temp folders)
  ├─ themes/cafirm/    ~1 MB
  ├─ plugins/          ~100+ MB
  ├─ uploads/          ~40 MB
  └─ other folders     ~6 MB
wp-*.php files         ~2 MB
.htaccess              ~20 KB

─────────────────────
TOTAL:                 ~214 MB (Minimal)

DATABASE/gloc_wp.sql.gz ~1.2 MB (For reference/manual recovery)
```
### With All Backups (NOT RECOMMENDED)
```
Total if including backups: ~600+ MB
(This is inefficient and unnecessary)
```
### Recommended Approach
```

- wp-admin/ (complete)
- wp-includes/ (complete)
- wp-content/themes/cafirm/
- wp-content/plugins/ (complete)
- wp-content/uploads/
- Core WordPress files (wp-*.php)
- .htaccess
- wp-config.php (MUST UPDATE with server credentials)

Skip:
- All backups and archives
- Local development files
- Duplicate directories
```
---
## 6. CRITICAL CONFIGURATION CHANGES FOR PRODUCTION
### wp-config.php Changes (MUST DO)
```php
// Line 30: Update database name
define('DB_NAME', '[YOUR_CYBERPANEL_DB_NAME]');  // NOT 'gloc_wp'

// Line 32: Update database user
define('DB_USER', '[YOUR_CYBERPANEL_DB_USER]');  // NOT 'gloc_wp'

// Line 34: Update database password
define('DB_PASSWORD', '[YOUR_CYBERPANEL_DB_PASS]');  // NOT 'gloc_wp'

// Line 36: Update database host
define('DB_HOST', '[YOUR_CYBERPANEL_HOST]');  // NOT 'localhost'

// Keep everything else unchanged (salt keys, table prefix, etc.)
```
### Database Options to Update (After Import)
```php
// These will be in the database and may need updating:

wp_options table:
- siteurl → Must be: https://glocalconsultants.com (or your domain)
- home → Must be: https://glocalconsultants.com (or your domain)

// These will auto-update based on wp-config.php:
- DB_NAME
- DB_USER
- DB_PASSWORD
- DB_HOST
```
### Plugins to Configure on Production
After import, these plugins may need reconfiguration:
```
1. Really Simple SSL
   - Enable HTTPS enforcement
   - Set correct domain
   - Generate/upload SSL certificate

2. WP Mail SMTP Pro
   - Update SMTP credentials (Gmail, custom SMTP, etc.)
   - Test email delivery
   - Update admin email notification address

3. LiteSpeed Cache
   - Configure cache settings for server
   - Set up cache purging rules
   - Enable/disable based on server configuration

4. Gravity Forms
   - Update form submission notification emails
   - Verify form redirects work with new domain
   - Test contact form submissions

5. WordPress SEO (Yoast)
   - Update sitemap URLs
   - Verify breadcrumb URLs
   - Update focus keywords if needed
```
---
## 7. RISKS & PRECAUTIONS
### Critical Risks
#### Risk 1: Database Import Failure
**Impact:** Site non-functional, no data accessible
**Prevention:**
- ✅ Verify database user/password/host credentials before import
- ✅ Ensure database already created on server
- ✅ Test connection to database server first
- ✅ Have database backup available for retry
#### Risk 2: wp-config.php Credentials Wrong
**Impact:** "Error establishing database connection" on every page
**Prevention:**
- ✅ Double-check all 4 database credentials (name, user, password, host)
- ✅ Test MySQL connection before pointing WordPress to it
- ✅ Keep original wp-config.php as backup for restore
#### Risk 3: File Permission Issues
**Impact:** WordPress cannot write to uploads, plugins cannot access files
**Prevention:**
- ✅ Set correct ownership (user:user or user:group)
- ✅ Set correct permissions (755 dirs, 644 files generally)
- ✅ WordPress directory permissions typically: 775 for wp-content/
#### Risk 4: Site URL Mismatch
**Impact:** AJAX fails, forms don't work, admin redirects fail
**Prevention:**
- ✅ After import, update siteurl and home in wp_options
- ✅ Verify domain points to server correctly
- ✅ Test AJAX endpoints work (services page filtering)
#### Risk 5: Mixed Content (HTTP/HTTPS)
**Impact:** Browser warnings, AJAX/forms blocked
**Prevention:**
- ✅ Enable Really Simple SSL
- ✅ Set up HTTPS certificate on server
- ✅ Ensure all internal links use HTTPS
- ✅ Update database if needed (search/replace URLs)
#### Risk 6: Plugin Compatibility
**Impact:** Plugins may not work with server PHP version
**Prevention:**
- ✅ Verify PHP version on server (7.4+ recommended, 8.0+ better)
- ✅ Check plugin compatibility with PHP version
- ✅ Have rollback plan if plugin fails
